প্রতি বছররের মতো ২০২৩–২৪ অর্থবছরেও দাম বৃদ্ধির তালিকায় সবার ওপরের দিকে আছে সিগারেট। চলতি অর্থবছরের প্রস্তাবিত বাজেটে সব কটি সিগারেটের মূল্যস্তর বাড়ানোর প্রস্তাব করা হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেল ৩টা থেকে জাতীয় সংসদে ২০২৩–২৪ অর্থবছরের বাজেট প্রস্তাব পেশ শুরু করেন অর্থমন্ত্রী আ হ ম মুস্তফা কামাল। সিগারেটে কর বাড়িয়ে অর্থমন্ত্রী বাড়তি ছয় হাজার কোটি টাকা রাজস্ব আদায়ের লক্ষ্য ঠিক করেছেন।
