Today we will be discussing the 280 000 EUR Golden Visa investment option in Portugal. This is the cheapest way to get a Portuguese golden visa, and today we will tell you all you need to know.
Is this the best way to go when considering the Golden Visa route in Portugal?
So Portuguese golden visa offers three possible options:
-You can invest in bonds
-You can invest in funds
-You can invest in real estate
When it comes to real estate investment if you want to buy property in more desirable areas, such as Lisbon or Porto you will need to make a minimum investment of 500 000 euros.
If you invest in other areas, you can do it for 350 000 euros. And finally, there is the third lowest-cost option where you can invest 280 000 euros. This option is what we're focusing on today.
When it comes to the first two mentioned options, you can invest money in any property that you like. The third option is different- there are some technicalities around it and it can be quite complicated to do on your own. This is why most people would buy into a project, mostly hotel projects.
Hotel developments are usually from chains, which can be Hilton, Marriot, Ramada, etc.
However, this option is not my favorite way to go even though it seems like the best deal.
At the end of 5 years, there is a buy-out guarantee from the developer. They got money interest-free from you, you get your 280 000 euros back + the golden visa. Sounds like a win-win.
However, I'm extremely concerned about this option as I'm not sure where the money will come from to pay you back. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this option as it is quite risky in my opinion.
