My husband took this video at a restaurant named Restaurante do Cabrita on the southern west coast of Portugal. I was reluctant at first, but now they are a must have every time I set foot in Portugal or Spain. they are salty and tasty, with a texture that is firmer than you would expect. kinda like a salty meaty mushroom. ????
"Long a delicacy in Spain and Portugal, percebes (gooseneck barnacles) are painstakingly harvested from rock formations deep in the ocean. Don't be dissuaded by the fact that they look like dinosaur toes. Pulling them apart reveals a tender cylindrical bit of meat that tastes like the best and briniest of clams."
