Are you looking for a place to visit near Delhi? Are you looking for a place that is not yet explored? If an offbeat location is something that interests you then 'Doc Hardy's Homestay' in Kotkhai near Shimla is the right place for you. This homestay is run by a Himachali family who I feel are the nicest people I have met in Himachal :). An awesome place to stay if you are going on a vacation to Shimla. Beautiful amenities and surroundings make it a heaven. The homemade food is just out of the world.
This accommodation is affordable considering the offbeat place, the aura and not to mention, the amazing hospitality and traditional Himachali food they serve you. Watch this video to know about my experience of this homestay. It is just 2 hrs away from Shimla and yet has such quiet surroundings. You can reach Kotkhai by taking a private car or a bus (I do not know about this option in Covid times) or drive on your own. The trail from Shimla to Kotkhai is also a beautiful one when you cross Kufri. The last 500 m stretch to this homestay is going to give you a perfect offroading experience.
Doc Hardy homestay in Kotkhai is a place where you would wish to spend quality time with friends and family, indulge in local delicacies, enjoy the quiet surrounding and soak the sunlight. What I loved the most about going to this place is its distance from Delhi. You can reach here in 7-8 hours and that's what makes it a perfect weekend trip destination from Delhi.
