The Brazilian Embassy is investing 680,000 Kwacha to translate six books by Brazilian authors from Portuguese into four Zambian local languages.
Brazil’s Ambassador to Zambia ARTHUR NOGUEIRA has revealed that the Embassy is partnering with the Zambia Women Writers Association- ZAWWA to carry out the project under the guidance of the National Arts Council.
Mr. NOGUEIRA says the project is aimed at broadening Zambian readers' perspectives and inspiring hope and freedom.
He was speaking during the signing of a collaboration roadmap between the Brazilian Embassy and the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts in Lusaka last evening.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts Permanent Secretary FUMBA CHAMA expressed gratitude to the embassy for their initiative to develop the creative writing industry.
And ZAWWA President AGNES NYENDWA commended the Embassy of Brazil and the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts for their unwavering commitment to the development and implementation of arts in Zambia.
