On May 18, 2024, at 11:46 PM local time, a meteor the size of a washing machine flew over western Spain and Portugal before burning up over Portugal and the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. No significant pieces of the meteor have been reported as reaching the ground, regardless it was an amazing sight for those who were able to witness it and capture it on camera!
