Erdogans Vision ist in erster Linie die Vereinigung der islamischen Nationen. Eine moderne, fortgeschrittene, weiter entwickelte und konservative Gesellschaft, in der die Kultur die Moderne trifft und welche nicht mehr als dritte Welt bezeichnet wird. Immer wieder betont Erdogan, dass er in erster Linie Muslim ist und lehnt die Spaltung der muslimischen Welt strikt ab. Vollkommen egal ob Schiiten oder Sunniten. Wir sind alle unter dem Dach des Islam geeint, so Erdogan.
