Supporting more women and entrepreneurs of color is critical to America’s economic success. According to the World Bank, there would be economic gains in the order of $5-6 trillion if women were supported to start and scale new businesses at the same rate as men. Kathi Vidal, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office joined intellectual property (IP) office leaders from Singapore, Bulgaria, Namibia, and Argentina along with leaders from IP intensive industries at an event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to discuss current initiatives to recruit more entrepreneurs from underrepresented groups into the innovation ecosystem.
