The time for the grape harvest has finally arrived! This is my second grape harvest on the farm. Join me for the harvest day prep and the day of harvesting - from picking grapes to cleaning and pressing at the wine maker.

The wine maker is again Laurence from Keela Yoga Farm.

I tried to set up some irrigation prior to harvest and before the huge heatwave, however I failed - but got a good idea for what I will need to make it successful!

The grape harvest was hugely successful, albeit extremely tiring. This year I managed to harvest a whopping 119 kg more than the year before, bringing my total and all time best harvest to 293kg of red.

About Girl Meets Farm:
I'm Christine, a South African expat now living in Portugal.

This is my adventure as a solo expat on a farm in Central Portugal with my two fur-kids, Shakti & Shiva.
I've never owned or lived on a farm, but moved to Portugal in the hope of fulfilling a life-long dream of finding open space, subsistence farming and a safer, better life.

The third stage of our journey begins now!
I'm still figuring out farm life, and while the larger renovation of the agricultural structure is now complete, I will continue renovating the interior to make it habitable and turn it into a comfortable home for me and my furkids.

Thank you for joining our journey!
