STORYLINE:
Portugal is gearing up for early elections on Sunday with recent polls pointing out to around 20 per cent of undecided voters. Among them, a majority of women .
As the main candidates attend their final campaign events in the streets of Lisbon on Women's Day, voters have their say on what they hope for the election.
47-year-old Ana Barros thinks that women have a clear choice on Sunday.
"It’s very clear the option for us on Sunday and that’s the way to go and I hope today on women’s day women can confirm this conviction and that on Sunday they reaffirm the intention to maintain our acquired rights and continue our path.”
In recent days the main candidates have began appealing particularly to female voters.
The fact that aborting rights became part of the campaign was also a reason.
Portugal decriminalised abortion for all women following a referendum in 2007 but a member of one of the center-right parties appeared on a side event criticising the law and the right to abortion.
