Inside of the concentration camps of the Second World War, there were many people who were executed for a variety of crimes. Many more were executed for no reason, but inside of Natzweiler-Struthof in France, SS guards and officials sent four British female SOE agents and spies to their deaths in a horrific ordeal. One of these women was Diana Rowden, who had lived in France early in her life and was recruited to act as a courier of information from the British War Office and the French Resistance. She was excellent at her spy work, however she was then betrayed and was hunted by the Gestapo.

Diana Rowden was then transferred to a number of prisons after she had been tortured and was finally sent to Natzweiler-Struthof Concentration Camp with four other female spies. In the evening after their arrival, she was then given a tranquilliser and was thrown into the crematoria oven at the camp alive. This was the same way that the other four women were executed and killed, and it was incredibly brutal. The fourth woman was known also to have put up a big struggle against what was happening. But Diana Rowden is remembered for being an incredibly brave spy, that died in a horrific way.
