The Portuguese Camino Way is a hiking route starting in Lisbon then heading North through Portugal before crossing into Spain and onto to Santiago de Compostela. Last year I hiked the coastal route with my Dad and Sister. My favorite part of the Portuguese Camino was when first crossing into Spain so I headed back to explore a little more.

I started in Porto and took a bus up to Caminha. There are no ferries in off season (didn’t know this at the time), so I had to ask a local fisherman if he could take me across to Spain. I got dropped off on the other side and started hiking.

I hiked from A Guarda up to Baiona stopping along the way and finding my own route through the ridgeline along the coast.

Galicia is an amazing part of Spain that is visited less often by tourists but sits at the end of the Camino De Santiago where the pilgrim route( Way of St James) finishes. Yellow arrows show you the route there are also guide books like the "portuguese Camino john Brierley book".

I hope you enjoy the views of Galicia.
